As Humans, we were destined to live for ourselves, for the achievement
of our dreams and goals and not for the standardization of our reactions, thoughts and hopes .
The fact is that the Mathematic Laws of Life meant us to live with
others which implies a certain respect of others and of ourselves, not for them or on them, which is in both cases a wobbly and insane scenario since both reflect a low self-respect. Now self respect mostly develops after taking risks in life because (measured) risks serve personal enhancement and growth, hence self esteem.
This self esteem is important to the point that it worths all the efforts, time and energy that exist, and it sometimes includes the risk of losing some once close relationships because success, like opinion, metabolism or political opinion, is a personal matter.

This is supposed to be a deal between you and yourself.
Because no matter how odd, dated or fantaisit the shape of our dreams , they are ours. They belong to us and we are the only ones able to evaluate how far we have done, how far we still need to go and at what speed we feel like achieve our life goals.
Furthermore, there has never been any wish or goal on earth worthing more than another one. Dreams are unique but they also are all alike in the sense that they all have their essence, importance and their own utility in the giant gear of the Universe.
Hence, develop your own inner machine to launch your own personal life story.
Be yourself and love it because nobody -apart from our sweet mothers-, will care about us and about our dreams better than ourselves.
