What happens when you stick to your dreams.
The awkward laws of life.
It may sound awkward but in the normal course, the more you stick to your
dreams, the more opportunities you find on your way to achieve it. Nothing is
awkward in this. It is nothing but commonsense would you say. Yes, you are
right. And there are several explanations to it that I won’t detail today, but
this is what James Redfield call “synchronicity”. Now the awkward part of it (because
there is one), is that it looks like the more you decide to stick to your goals,
the less you actually succeed to do it in the long run.
It is like if the Universe wanted to test our tenacity in the deal. And
actually, it is. And the bigger the stakes, the harder the life exams. Exactly
like in school.
Life has some rather strange ways of testing our determination. |
Mastering one's focus capacity.
I have been told several times this short story about these three
soldiers learning to shoot in a training camp. The sergeant would tell them to
target the first bird that they would see, and to only focus on its eyes.
After a while, when each one of them finally got a bird in their
viewfinder, the sergeant would ask them about the things they saw while
targeting the bird. The first soldier would answer: “I see the tree on which
the bird is perched on”. The second one would talk about these clouds also in his
field of view. And at each “what else” asked by the sergeant, they would find
one more element to add to their list.
Surprised by the silence of the third soldier, the sergeant asked him
what he saw during the exercise. And the soldier would answer: “I am sorry Sergeant, you told me to focus on
the eyes of the bird only so this is what I have been doing for minutes. And
there is unfortunately nothing else in my field of view except the bird’s
eyes.”
I guess both of the first soldiers wanted to show that they were pretty
much alert soldiers and capable of focusing on several things at the same time,
while the third one only proved that he understood the real meaning of “focusing
on something”.
This story is not very different from what is actually happening in our
daily lives. For a majority of people, realizing one’s dreams really IS
important. But so also are the little pleasures and issues of life.
The winning quartet.
Now there is one important thing that people (especially children, as I
used to say) should clearly understand: having life dreams actually is important,
very important. But this IS NOT ENOUGH! Success
and self-accomplishment are not located on the easy way. Easy money, short-cuts
and mediocrity are.
In terms of goals achievement, the thing is that success and
self-accomplishment are where Focus, Courage, Perseverance and Faith are.
1-
Focusing
means that your eyes, your brain, your heart and your soul are synchronized for
a permanent informational monitoring activity around your goals. This is fine
but still not enough.
2-
Courage
means that even when you find it hard and difficult, you still gather all your
energy to hold on
3-
Perseverance
is going beyond the myth of “reaching one’s goal is only a matter of vision and
of sticking hard to it”, or to add “whatever may” to the myth since there
actually is little possibility for to reach one life’s goals when not prepared
to face the little disturbances around it, which, to be honest, are numerous.
Because, perseverance means being physically mentally, emotionally and
spiritually prepared to face not only all kinds of serious blows, anger, deceit,
tears and fatigue,… but also It all sorts of disrupting and temptations.
4-
And Faith is stopping resistance and dropping
down every useless weighs from you, accepting (KNOWING and FEELING, don’t ask
me how) that the writings on the walls are clear and that the best things are
on their way in your favor.
I guess that honey would never have existed without the efforts of the bees. |
Now maybe this is an old-fashioned myth since there seems to be a new paradigm
vehicle by certainly well-meaning people, whereby you can get success and money
and love “without” furnishing tremendous efforts in just believing hard in your
dreams.
I am neither sorry nor ashamed to remain in the old-fashioned myth of
efforts get to success. Because I have understood that the marvels of this
world all were the result of intense efforts. And most of all, the Natural
Process of Life actually shows the importance of efforts in every ongoing
cycle. Efforts make babies (humans or animals) learn to become adults, and
every single plant, animal and cell is the result of a transformation and of an
inner process which actually is what I consider to be efforts.
And I have a personal conviction, which is again, confirmed by the
Natural Life Process: what is important takes time, and what takes time is great.
Late trees give the best fruits and hard deliveries make babies cute. And, to
quote Robin Sharma, the Top 5 life coaches, “if it is not hard enough, then it
is not big enough”.
Give it importance. Make it big. Make it great. You deserve it! ©
